Your Role as Business/Quality Assurance Analyst
In the role of Business/Quality Assurance Analyst, you’ll be an essential part of our DevOps team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of testing. You’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, leading initiatives that will elevate our service offerings and improve client satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to take on significant responsibilities while making a tangible impact on the company’s success.

What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for a motivated, experienced individual who is eager to bring their skills and expertise to Hancock. Here’s what we need from you:
  • Experience: You have 2 years of experience in testing browser-based software applications with a proven track record of success in drafting manual test cases and executing manual test cases.
  • Skills:
    • 2+ years of proven experience testing browser-based software applications.
    • Deep experience with drafting manual test cases and executing manual test cases.
    • Knowledge of testing and quality assurance methodologies.
    • Great understanding of the Defect Life Cycle.
    • Ability to execute test cases on the latest desktop, tablet, and mobile devices on the latest browsers.
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with varied and diverse audiences.
    • Experience with JIRA and TestRail is desired
    • Proven success working as a member of a fast-paced software development team
    • Experience in the full software development life cycle from design to deployment
    • An agile mindset - you are flexible in your approach and able to pivot when necessary
    • Ability to juggle competing priorities, keep to tasks and deadlines, and be organized
  • Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent work experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with Confluence or Jira is a PLUS! Not a requirement.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You have the ability to approach challenges with a strategic mindset and find innovative solutions.
  • Additional Requirements: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable managing multiple tasks, and have a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide status updates, and ensure alignment on testing priorities and objectives.
  • Manually executing functional, regression, and smoke tests during integration and system test phases
  • Documenting test results and effectively communicating them to the team
  • Ensuring thorough testing and doing your part to ensure project goals are met
  • Reporting issues in the defect tracking system
  • Participating in internal defect triage discussions, ensuring the successful resolution of found defects
  • Updating test plans to reflect changes in requirements
  • Achieving in-depth functional knowledge of the software system and how customers utilize our software
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide status updates, and ensure alignment on testing priorities and objectives.
  • Ability to identify, document, and prioritize software defects based on severity and impact, with a proven track record of reducing defect resolution time by 10% within a release cycle.
  • Familiarity with various testing methodologies such as functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing, with the ability to adapt testing strategies based on project requirements and constraints, increasing testing efficiency.
  • Defining UAT test cases, facilitating testing sessions, and ensuring timely resolution of issues, resulting in successful UAT sign-off within agreed timelines for major releases.
  • Investigate and analyze production defects reported by users, prioritize them based on severity and impact, and work with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
